The 2020 Breakthrough DJ Competition is now well into Round 2, so we’ve decided to catch up with each of the Top 16 to learn a little more about them 👀We’ll be speaking with all of the Top 16 in the coming days.

In this blog we speak with Link LDN, who really stood out to the judges for a well thought out mix, good flow and track selection.

Hi Link LDN, well done for making the Top 16! Your mix really stood out for its flow and track selection, the judges could tell you really put some thought into this.

So first, introduce yourself?

I was born and raised in West London. I’m part of a local scene of musicians, DJs and producers who create and make music together in the surrounding area. I have a 5 year old son that I play my sets to and he never stops dancing.

Cool, that music help with creativity! It’s nice you can share DJing with your son. Tell us your favourite genre to play and your favourite track right now?

Although I’m influenced by many genres I enjoy playing house music the most. Blue Foundation – Eyes on Fire (Michael Bibi Remix). What I enjoy about this song is subtle vocal, energy and groove of the beat. It also goes down really well on the dancefloor.

Nice track, so how long have you been behind the decks? Biggest claim to fame?

Six years. Meeting Route 94 at High Definition Festival!

Nice! We’d like to know who each of you aspire to?

I aspire to be my own name in the DJ world but take influence from DJ’s such as Carl Cox, Jamie Jones and Kenny Ken.

Big shoes to follow there, we like your amibition! So, if you could play at any party or venue, where would it be?

Solid Grooves in London.

Another great choice. Last question: what’s your opinion on phones on the dancefloor?

Not really necessary but Shazam is really useful in those situations!
